Ambassador Ernst Noorman visits Guyana
From 18 until 21 May, 2016, Ambassador Noorman (resident in Paramaribo, Suriname) visited Guyana. On the 19th of May he had a very pleasant and fruitful meeting with H.E. President David A. Granger
During their meeting President Granger and Ambassador Noorman underlined the long-standing ties between the two countries which is still reflected by the wealth of cultural heritage in Guyana, city names and street names.
During his visit Ambassador Noorman had also pleasant meetings with Prime Minister Hon. Moses Nagamootoo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. carl Greenidge, the Minister of Public Infrastructure Hon. David Patterson and the Minister of Legal Affairs and Attorney General, Hon. Basil Williams.
Dutch expertise in water management
Furthermore the President and Ambassador discussed the cooperation in the field of water management such as the visit of the Dutch Risk Reduction Team in November last year. In July a team of students from Delft University will arrive in Georgetown to assist in implementing the recommendations of the DRR team.
